 The Beach Boys first played the famed Hollywood Bowl on Saturday October 19th, 1963, in a day long summer spectacular for the young. The band played alongside other surf sensations of the time such as Jan and Dean and the famed rock n roller Duane Eddy. This 4th of July The Beach Boys return to the Hollywood Bowl to play a series of concerts that celebrate five decades of playing at this the legendary venue.

The image on this print was taken on July 3, 1965 at the Summer Spectacular Concert they headlined that day. Masterfully photographed by Julian Wasser for Life Magazine, this print captures The Beach Boys' first hometown performance in nearly a year, following iconic acts like The Byrds, The Kinks, Sonny & Cher, and The Righteous Brothers.
